Great songs and an infectious good time

Van Morrison says "I have a theory that soul music originally came from Scotland and Ireland".

Dave Mason-Cox

Dave Mason-Cox (DMC) agrees and has put together a group to test the theory. After working with

Blind Mary in Irish pubs around Australia for two years Dave decided to take elements from rock, soul, blues and country music and inject them with a Celtic flavour. The result is The Blarney Boys, a trio that delivers great songs with an infectious rootsy energy.

Taking the stage armed with acoustic guitar, bass, whistles, flutes and sax and their delicious voices, The Blarney Boys are a powerhouse. They radiate a rare and genuine warmth. Indeed, their good humour is so infectious and their performances so well paced that they win over even the most bashful of audiences.

Murray Ferguson

Murray Ferguson

DMC has a commanding stage presence and his powerful voice is Australia's answer to The Commitments' Andrew Strong. He is an accomplished musician with a strong rythmic element permeating through his acoustic guitar style. He is also well known as a singer/songwriter. Over the past ten years he has released three CDs of original material to wide acclaim.

On vocals, bass guitar and electric acoustic guitar is Murray Ferguson, master musician. Murray is well known to Australian audiences as the band leader of The Castaways, who performed nightly on P&O's Fairstar & Fair Princess for over seven years. He is also a wonderfully expressive singer, gliding effortlessly from a croon to a growl as the song requires. A true Maestro.

Lyn Craine

Lyn Craine

Lyn Craine is a real treat on flute, whistles and sax! She has a great reputation around Australia for virtuoso performances, great good humour and an exciting stage presence. In the UK she worked with a wide variety of Irish artists and bands around London. Since arriving Australia she has made a major impact as a versatile performer par excellence.

Between them, The Blarney Boys have a veritable treasure house of songs. The repertoire extends from traditional and contemporary Irish, folk and soul greats to country, pop and rock standards with a sprinkling of reggae and blues classics.

The Blarney Boys - great songs and an infectious good time at a reasonable volume.

Always good fun!
